Method 1: Regional Transport Office (RTO)

One of the best ways to request a new international driving license is to have the Regional Transport Office. RTO is an Indian government- approved organization. RTO can assist you with the issuance and collection of driving licences, vehicle records, tax collection and more.

Required Documents

  • Driving License: You must need your county issued driving license and make sure it will be available In RTO database.
  • Identity Proof: You can use Front side of passport and aadhar card as an identity proof.
  • Address Proof: You can use Back side of aadhar card as address proof. Pan card is not valid address proof so you can not use pan card. But it required during when you apply for new international driving license.
  • Passport: Make use you have valid passport with expiration date.
  • Visa: You can apply only when you already have a valid visa authorized by a foreign embassy.
  • Passport Size Photographs: Required at least three or four passport size photos.
  • Ticket: Valid train or air ticket required.
  • Age: You must be 18 years old.
  • Official form issued by concerned authority
  • Form 4
  • Application fee of Rs.500
  • Certified proof of indian citizenship
  • Medical certificate
  • Age proof
Make sure that all above evidence is valid in the event that any evidence is incorrect, then you can't apply an international driving licence. 

 You need to visit the regional transport authority and fill out the application form after you collect all the above documents.

Method 2: International Traffic Control Association (ITCA)

By visiting the official website of the International Traffic Control Association you can also apply online for international driving licenses. If you want to apply via ITCA, you need valid documents to
  • Scanned copy of passport
  • Scanned copy of national driving license
  • Passport size photo
  • Nearly 34 US dollar processing fees

  • The first step to visit International Traffic Control Association official website.
  • Simply click on Apply Now button available at the top menu.
  • Now fill the details like Processing Urgency, Validity Period, Class, Your National Driving License Number and National Driving License Expiry date.
  • Make sure all entered details are correct and click on Start Your Application Now.
